The innovation

ARC is a novel needle for multimodal interventional radiology or minimally invasive surgery. The stiffness can be easily controlled just by sliding a button on the handle according to combinatory patterns.Size, material and configurations can be designed on demand depending on the application.

Trajectory correction

Many factors may interfere in needle insertion gesture implying the initial target is not reached at first attempt.ARC offers the opportunity to correct the trajectory and finally reach the target with limited tissues lacerations.

Obstacle avoidance

Reaching a specific target may be difficult considering anatomic elements located on insertion path.ARC offers the possibility to simplify the insertion planification , reduce the patient trauma, increase accessibility and lower the surgical intervention.

Multiple targeting

With ARC, it is now possible to reach multiple targets per insertion with the benefits of repeated medical gesture with limited tissues trauma, improved medical procedure (high success, less time) and limited infection risks.

Keypoints

  • Passive steering

  • On-demand stiffness configuration

  • Multimodal imaging compatible

  • Fully customizable

The applications

“What a standard needle can do, ARC can do it better.”This means that any applications using standard needles can benefit from ARC technology.

  1. Passive needle (no battery nor actuators) as safe as standard needles.

  2. Reduced trauma and infection risks, increased accuracy, and reduced operation time.

  3. Size, material and configurations designed on demand depending on the application.

«The customizable and controlled flexibility of the ARC technology, ranging from a straight and stiff needle to a flexible one, open the door to the next level of needle insertions. The passive steering capabilities enable both, non-linear approaches and obstacle avoiding insertions, widening the toolkit of any clinician on the field of needle-based procedures, either with diagnostic or therapeutic intentions.»
